What is From the Moon?

What is From the Moon? Not Martians; they're from Mars. From the Moon is a project by me, "Lunar" Lyndon and other Lunatics who like to make music and images. As pioneers of the space folk genre, our songs and pictures depict tales of crazy old Earth for a future generation of lunar dwellers. Our ultimate goal is to motivate our human successors to use their time-warping technology and come save us now.

In other words, From the Moon writes everyday life anthems for bored middle-class young people.

From the Moon to play Winnipeg Folk Festival

Terrell and Lyndon will be representing From the Moon at the Winnipeg Folk Festival. We'll be performing about four tunes on Shady Grove stage, Friday at 3:30pm.

Jesus Christ Superstar, Easter weekend

On April 9th, The Liptonians, Flying Fox and the Hunter-Gatherers, and friends are joining forces to play music from the great rock musical, Jesus Christ Superstar. The roster, 17 strong, is packed with incredible musicians including five From the Moon contributors (or six, if you count me), Juno nominated singer Alexa Dirks (Chic Gamine), and, of course, the Western Canadian Music Award winning Liptonians and Flying Fox.

More like MennoFriggenAwesome! We played the Mennofolk art show last night at Outworks Gallery, the first ever From the Moon performance that featured the same line-up as a previous concert. The place was packed and the vibe was amazing in there. Mennonites know how to throw a party. Congrats to all of the visual artists; I was very impressed. James Wall snapped a few photos of us with my camera.
